Psychologists have developed many sophisticated techniques for figuring out what people really think even when they don’t want to admit it. One of them is called the Implicit Attitude Test, or IAT, for short. I have exploited the labor of one of my colleagues by asking him to construct an IAT that asks about – who else – me.
