Who is Karl Aquino?
Hobbies & Interests: I like to play basketball and I maintain a modest collection of widely circulated U.S. and Canadian coins. The centerpiece of my coin collection is a Sacajawea $1 U.S. coin. It is the only type of coin in my collection that is not widely circulated, and coincidentally, it is also the only U.S. currency that depicts a person of color. I am also quite proud of my three Canadian toonies. Pictures of my coin collection can be found in my photo gallery.
Favorite Historical Figure: A tie between Bruce Lee and Harriet Tubman
Person I’d Most Like to Meet: Anyone who owns a bike
Favorite Star Trek Character: Mr. Sulu
Favorite Breakfast: chicken feet and tripe, with a big bowl of rice (preferably white)
Favorite TV Show: none
Celebrity I Most Admire: Kobe Bryant
Favorite Politician: Hugo Chavez
Favorite pastime: Wasting large quantities of non-renewable natural resources and fishing with live bait.
Most Valued Possession: I take great pride in owning a luxury automobile — a white, 1997 Acura TL with automatic door locks — that I was able to purchase using income generated by my various consulting activities. A picture of my luxury automobile can be found in my photo gallery.
Books I Recommend: I don’t know for sure because I’ve never read them, I’ve heard these books are pretty good: The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon, A Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant, The Symposium by Plato, Totem and Taboo by Sigmund Freud, The Principia: Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy by Sir Isaac Newton, Troilus and Cressida by some English guy called “The Bard”, Maneater by Gigi Levangie Grazer, and A Night Without Armor: Poems by Jewel. If you do decide to read any of these books, please send me a one-page summary so I don’t have to read them myself.
